So is Yharnam the Matrix, the Moon Presence the Architect, and the Hunter’s Dream just a cage with better lighting

Lore

I’ve been digging into the Lore so I just wanted to clarify what’s happening here in simple terms and to be corrected if I’m wrong here .also if you haven’t played the game or still playing then this will obviously have spoilers .

- The Moon Presence built a system. Yharnam which is basically like a Matrix or some sort of constructed loop you get dropped into to serve a cosmic purpose you never agreed to.
- The “Dream” is the layer of control sitting above it. Gehrman is the administrator who’s been watching the cycle repeat with fresh hunters over and over while he stays locked in that wheelchair.
- The graves in the garden are every hunter who came before you and got “released” I’m assuming ? sounds merciful until you realize the cycle just resets immediately after.
- YOU are not the hero of Yharnam. You’re the latest iteration of a loop that has been running longer than anyone in the game can remember.

Is that right ?

Also , are we to believe that none of the endings are “good” at all ?

1.) Gehrman releases you . great for you, meaningless for everyone else.
2.) You become the new Gehrman . congratulations you’re now the janitor of the same prison.
3. You transcend into a Great One which sounds like winning until you remember every Great One in this game is defined by cosmic loneliness and tragedy.

For the most part I’ve seen people say the 3rd ending is the least bleak of the 3.

My question is does the Dream continue even after the that ending? Because the Doll is still there. So does You becoming a Great One just mean the cycle has a new figurehead instead of a new servant?
