Anyone else feel a bit disappointed that Ananta won't have character gacha?

Discussion

This might be a lunatic take but obviously most of us come from gacha games. In the space there is a sentiment that a game will become better if we remove gacha from it but i don't agree with it 100%. At the end of the day, i play these games because it hits that gambling itch for me in a free 2 play way.

While Ananta will have gacha, tbh i can't care about cosmetics that much. And for me it's so fascinating to see that the people who play these games are actually the ones that seem to hate gacha the most. I love the feeling of getting something good super early and out of the blue, and i also appreciate the system for what it is when i get unlucky. I think in some games it's the gacha element itself that makes them have something extra. For example the lack of said system was one of the reasons i dropped DNA so early.

Enter Ananta. I was so hyped about it and i honestly lost some hype after hearing characters will be obtainable just through playing. Let me be clear; i like fair and more generous gacha systems. I think the main issue is that some other games in this space actually aren't good enough in their own right to be good games full stop. Some of them are regarded as good because we set a different standard for them.

I have really high hopes for this game but i also worry for it. Once you made the decision to not be a gacha game the bar is much higher. You need to be a good game, not a good gacha game. The standards are very different. It looks like they understood this and are really focusing on the gameplay because of it. If any game can pull it off, it's this one. Please blow me away and make me not even think of all of this.

What do you guys think? Do any of you feel a similar way? I know i'm definitely in the minority with this take.
