laser on face

I have been using an at home ipl machine for 2-3 months now on my arms and I am quite happy with my progress, and now want to start using it on my face. However im super scared because ive heard people have horror stories of hair growing back way thicker and in places they didnt even have hair before. I dont have any hormonal issues or pcos as far as im aware. Is it worth the risk to give it a go, if you've done it before how was your experience?
