Thoughts after rewatching after years

Just finished rewatching after years and still the ending is just bad. I know the ending of the GTO LP manga, and I think that ending is also really bad. I’m not trying to poop on it since I really enjoyed GTO. It’s just the ending in both is bad. I think he should have ended up with >!Azusa Fuyutsuki.!< It’s just I really enjoyed it but if the ending of something is bad it kinda ruins it. What’s everyone else’s thoughts on it?
