Hey I've been doing a lot of reading and research and I just wanted to confirm a few things. I am considering going to vol state for EMT and AEMT with the end goal of working with NFD. I don't really have any interest in doing IFT long term so I would like to get hired into NFD as soon as possible.

I guess my questions for someone local would be, how are Vol states emt programs? How long does it take to get hired as an emt here? And what is that process like?

I may be leaving a pretty decent job to pursue this so I'm just worried about it. I'm young enough to make this career change now and I don't want to be stuck in the industry I'm currently in. By the end the starting pay for an AEMT at NFD is more than I make now I'm just worried about getting there.
