Piercings not allowed at job but interviewed me with my piercings?
I accepted a job offer with the following note listed under the Personal Grooming section of my offer letter: “Body piercings must be limited to two earrings per ear no greater than 3mm each. Other visible body piercing is not acceptable, unless demanded by religion/culture.”
I have 4 earrings per ear but it is nothing too flashy, just small gold hoops. They interviewed me in person with these piercings visible and no one said anything about it to me. I’m also not in a surgical position, I am just a front desk worker at this company. I don’t want to take my piercings out and have them close. I was planning to purchase some small studs to replace the hoops with to make them even less noticeable.
If they interviewed and offered me the job with these piercings visible, what is the likelihood it is actually going to be an issue? It was a small bullet listed amount many other personal grooming and dress code requirements.
