π Welcome to r/DigitalProductGuy - Read first!
Welcome, read this first!
If you've ever stared at a $997 course checkout page wondering whether it's actually worth it, or hovered over a $79/month Discord wondering if you're about to get scammed β this sub is for you.
What this place is
A space for honest reviews of paid online courses, communities, Discords, signals groups, mentorships, and digital products. The goal is simple: help people figure out what's actually worth paying for before they pay for it.
The internet is full of "reviews" that are obviously affiliate fluff, fake testimonials on the seller's own site, or hit pieces from competitors. We're trying to be the place you check first, where the takes are honest, the cons are named alongside the pros, and bad products get called out regardless of who's selling them.
What you'll find here
- Long-form reviews of specific courses, communities, and tools β pros, cons, who it's for, who it isn't
- "Is X worth it?" threads β ask before you buy, get answers from people who've actually paid
- Comparison posts β head-to-head breakdowns of similar products
- Red flag guides β how to spot the obvious scams before you hand over your card
- Category roundups β best (and worst) options in trading, ecom, AI, copywriting, etc.
What you can post
- Reviews of products you've personally bought and used
- Honest questions about whether something's worth buying
- Warnings about products that burned you (with receipts where possible)
- Recommendations for the ones that genuinely delivered
The rules, short version
- Disclose affiliations. If you're reviewing something you earn commission on, say so in the post. Disclosed affiliate content is welcome. Hidden shilling gets removed and earns a ban.
- No selling your own product. Reviewing your own course or community is not a review, it's an ad. Don't.
- Receipts beat vibes. "I paid for this, here's what was inside" reviews are gold. "Heard from a friend it sucks" reviews aren't.
- No personal attacks on creators. Critique the product, the marketing, the value, the claims. Not the person.
- Negative reviews are welcome, but specific. "This sucks" is a comment. "Here are the five things they promised that weren't delivered" is a review.
A note on bias
Nobody is perfectly neutral, and anyone claiming to be is lying. Some reviewers here will have affiliate relationships, some will be former customers with grudges, some will be current happy buyers. Read accordingly, weigh the receipts, and form your own view. Disclosure is the price of admission, beyond that, the community decides what's credible.
Introduce yourself in the comments if you want, what you've bought lately, what burned you, what's on your shortlist. Threads with the most engagement tend to be people asking "is X worth it?" before they buy, so don't be shy about asking.
Welcome aboard π
