My(34f) husband(22m) have some health problems , but his parents making things difficult for us
I (34F) am married to my husband (22M) who has serious health issues (heart defect, type 1 diabetes, partial blindness and hearing loss, plus OCD and bipolar with psychosis). I knew about everything before we got married and I love him deeply. He’s kind and does his best every day.
The problem is his parents. We live with them and they’re extremely protective. They question every decision I make, constantly step in, and treat me like I don’t know what I’m doing. It feels like they don’t trust me as his wife , They’re only about 10 years older than me
I feel like I have no space to actually build a marriage with him. I’m starting to feel frustrated, resentful, and trapped. I don’t want to cause drama because they love him and have taken care of him his whole life, but I need advice.
How do you set boundaries with overly involved in-laws you live with? And is it unrealistic to want more independence given his conditions?
Tl;dr : in laws control everything about my life with my husband
