Will Canon send me a new printer?

So recently got a printer off of Facebook marketplace from an elder lady. It was brand new, never opened. I went to turn it on in the screen doesn’t work so I can’t connect it to my Wi-Fi or do anything with it. I contacted canon and the sales lady said they can send a new one. She checked to see if it was still under warranty. I just have to verify proof of purchase. she did take my address down and said it would be expedited in two days . Unfortunately All I have is the screenshots from the lady on marketplace and the description. I also took pictures of the packaging and the printer. I asked the lady if that was going to be enough since I don’t have the original receipt she said it’s up to them if they process it or not. What are my odds canon accept my screenshots and pictures and sends me a new one?
