I (minor) seek advice on how to get mental support without parents being involved.
When i was 14, i was in my first “relationship” with a boy from my class. It started normal but became controlling and violent. He isolated me from my friends, got aggressive if I spoke to another classmate who was a guy (boys in general). There were incidents where he would throw things at me and even went as far as choking another student.
I am fully aware that i should’ve left him when he choked another guy, but if you’ve ever been in a situation like that, im guessing you can understand why i was not capable of doing so.
Before i broke up with the guy, he raped me. A bit after the break up, he raped me again. I told my parents and we filed a police report. The school decided to pick his side, since his family had connections.
Nothing came out of the police report, since he was below the legal age of punishment.
I went to therapy some months later and got diagnosed with ptsd. Years later i am still suffering with it. I cannot ask my parents for help since ive had previous experiences of that not ending well. They’re loving and caring parents, the therapy just makes them stress i think.
I cant sleep at night because of what happened, but i dont want to hurt my parents by demanding help. Does anyone have any idea on how to seek help without them knowing?
