weird synesthesia when watching fishes

Dude idk why but when I saw fishes for the first time I got a strong feeling that they going to play Weezer in this episode.
Like it felt like early Weezer, the atmosphere and all.
And there was this guy who kinda looked like Buddy Holly.
And then they played Weezer in the credits. I feel like I am crazy but not crazy.
Has anyone had this reaction too?
