Anyone regret their egg donor agency choice? And what do people NOT tell you about egg donor matching?
I recently took my first real step into the IVF process because I truly want to have a child of my own.
Right now I’m trying to navigate fresh egg donor options, but honestly I’ve found it surprisingly difficult to get clear and trustworthy information. Every agency and platform online looks polished, but it’s hard to tell what’s actually reputable versus just good marketing.
I even tried asking ChatGPT and Gemini for recommendations, but the lists they gave me were completely different, which honestly made me even more confused. Then I checked the SEEDS member directory and realized that some frequently recommended agencies weren’t even listed there.
At this point I feel a little overwhelmed trying to understand:
* how people actually choose the right donor
* what makes an agency truly reliable
* whether SEEDS membership really matters
* and what red flags I should be paying attention to early on
For people in California (especially LA)who’ve already gone through fresh donor matching — how did you approach this process? What helped you separate trustworthy agencies from marketing?
Would really appreciate honest experiences, advice, or anything you wish you knew before starting.
