Why is the 1444 preset so bad

Innacurate territories, is missing ALOT (Not all of it can be blamed on AI limitations; E.g 'North American Tribes'). Somehow portugal just pretty much ignored africa simply because I was a decently large nation in West africa. Even on impossible + GLM 5 it was way too easy to play as africa; I just made the leaders backstory being a river merchant who then was educated in portugal and returned, I somehow with just friends and family convinced tribes to agree to speak a simplified Mandinka for trade + use some of my skills from europe and they pretty much worshipped me. After a certain point of being large there was simply 0 resistance (Even in clear areas that would cause conflict like Mauritania when they have islamic tribes and we are christian). I could keep going but I'm already all over the place
