How are "digital marketing" influencers all so successful?
Or is it just a facade? My social media feed has become overrun with people posting about quitting their jobs, living freely, making money on their own terms. Sometimes I'll see people with only 2,000 followers and a link in their bio to a $100 course on digital marketing post that they made upwards of $20k in a 3 months. And they post videos about how working a 9-5 is a waste of your life, you are just signing your life away to work for a corporation that doesn't care about you, you'll retire one day and look back and realize you had no time with your kids and you don't really own anything. SO many videos like this. I could scroll for hours and see endless videos like this. I don't want to be an influencer by any means, I hate social media, and sometimes I think these people are a little selfish for capitalizing on people's fears and insecurities over the universal fact that many of us have to work to live, but I can't help but feel a little jealous if they really are so easily successful and so free to do whatever they want, while so many of us are working full-time. It doesn't really seem fair.
Are people really doing this? If so, how are they making such great money with this? Where does this endless stream of money for these vague internet jobs come from? Why isn't everyone doing this, if it's so easy?
