There is a myth that Vietnam protestors spat on American soldiers after returning from Vietnam. Has there been any specific incidents in which a French soldier returning from a war has had protesters attack them?
The myth comes from a movie scene in which Tom Cruise was spat on by protestors. I have spoken to many US Vietnam veterans that claim that this actually happened, but there is no evidence that it ever did.
