Losing faith seeing others rewarded for haram while I struggle

RANT/VENT

I don’t know if anyone else feels this way, but as a Muslim I’m struggling with my faith. Every day at uni I see couples openly doing things that are clearly haram. Yet they seem to have everything, happiness, wealth, big cars, strong connections that will land them good jobs.

Meanwhile, I who tries to abide by the rules, who avoids haram, is depressed. And i keep asking myself: why can’t I get those things? Why does it feel like people who ignore the rules are rewarded more, without even working hard, while those who try to stay on the straight path are left behind?

I know it might sound like jealousy, maybe it is, at least partly. But the question still remains: why does life seem so unfair? Why do people who break the rules get ahead, while those who try to follow them feel stuck?

Has anyone else wrestled with this? How do you reconcile faith with what you see around you?
