Would it be faster to just apply for a new EIN?

General Question

I am on the board for a new not for profit corporation. We recently filed for an EIN, and only realized after that the person who filed forgot to include the "Inc" at the end of our name. We have not used that EIN for anything yet, but were hoping to open a bank account next week. I know we do not NEED to file for a new EIN to correct the name, however it looks like it could take MONTHS to receive the corrected documentation, and we would need that in order to open the bank account or apply for our 501(c)(3). Would it just make more sense to file again under the correct name, and discard the previous paperwork? Or could we get in trouble for that?

(please let me know if I have tagged this incorrectly etc)
