Black “No signal” screen in the middle of the game
Hello, I’ve run into a problem that I haven’t experienced before. I always play at 1280×960, setting it through NVIDIA. For a long time I had two Windows installations on two separate drives, and I decided to merge them. I reinstalled everything from scratch and configured Windows the same way I always do, and everything was fine at first.
However, this time after a few minutes in Valorant, my monitor turns off and shows “DisplayPort No Signal.” I can still hear the game and my teammates, but when I press keys on the keyboard, I only hear Windows error sounds. After some time, the computer either restarts by itself or I have to restart it manually.
After rebooting, the monitor connects normally. However, if I don’t go into NVIDIA settings and switch the resolution back to 1920×1080 and then again to my in-game resolution, the problem happens again almost immediately.
I have reinstalled Windows several times. The last time, I didn’t install the chipset driver from the AMD website for my CPU. At first everything was fine, but then the issue came back again.
This problem happens ONLY in Valorant. In CS2, PUBG, and GTA, I don’t get this issue.
My PC specs: Ryzen 7 9800X3D + RTX 3060 12GB (I know the GPU doesn’t fully utilize the CPU, I just don’t have the budget to upgrade yet) + 32GB DDR5 6000 MHz. NVIDIA driver version 580.88 — everything was fine on it before.
I have already:
-reinstalled Windows several times
-installed the latest NVIDIA driver
-tried not installing the NVIDIA app at all
-tried not installing the chipset driver
-repaired the game files
-left the Riot launcher and Riot Vanguard untouched in startup
None of this helped.
Could this be related to stretching the game to 4:3? Or is my GPU failing? Or is it a driver issue? Please help😭
