O’Parrucchiano, Sorrento
I am still in Sorrento. I just got back from dining at https://www.parrucchiano.com/en/ two hours ago and I must post a review.
The ambiance of the restaurant was great. Everything else was negative. I can’t recommend it and I hope everyone reads this. Let me get started.
- In the first exchange with us (Americans), he asked us if we liked Trump. We certainly do not, and we said so profusely. This was a concern of mine given current events going into the trip, but I have been pleasantly surprised in this tourist town to find that nobody has obviously judged us for that. Until this waiter.
- Then he immediately began to grope our 19 y/o daughter by touching her in inappropriate ways by rubbing her back in a way that made her feel uncomfortable. In his first visit to the table.
- We asked for a bottle of white wine and a bottle of white wine. We were only brought the red wine. We had to ask multiple times for the white wine, and it only came after we asked someone else to help us.
- We asked repeatedly for a second bottle of water. Likewise, it didn’t happen until we bothered someone that wasn’t our waiter.
- I go to the bathroom, and as I arrive back I briefly give a loving shoulder and neck massage to my wife before I sit. This creep of a waiter thinks that’s a sign that it’s okay to mimic that massage on our daughter.
- At the end, he has the nerve to explicitly ask for a tip with pressure. One of the things I have enjoyed about a vacation to Europe is the vacation from tipping. Nobody has asked or expected anything, until this f’ing pervert scum.
- The food was okay but I have already had much better at multiple locations.
Do not visit this restaurant, especially if you are American. It’s over-hyped. The waiters are perverts. It’s been around since 1868, but I hope it dies tomorrow. And this waiter suffers.
