Word of Warning About RPS Insurance: You Need to Find Your Own Union Support
Essentially got sacked from work over dubious circumstances (partly due to reporting a safeguarding concerns in a supposedly unempathic manner; partly due to a personal tragedy which impacted my performance at work in february but from which I rebounded extremely well) and am currently in discussions with RPS insurance and ACAS about it. Whilst ACAS is recommending I take legal action due to what I disclosed (even if it is just a freedom of information request surrounding the exact details of my departure and asking them to defend themselves about lies they said in the ambush call), RPS insurance confirmed they are not a union and can only provide insurance and some legal advice, but you still need to find your own support in terms of union from UNITE or PDA, and legal costs, you would need to pay yourself if anything goes to court.
This was a massive gut punch and honestly thinking of going back to the PDA.
