Teac W-890R

Hey all-

How is the Teac W-890R in 2026? I primarily want to make mixtapes and indie tapes to sell at shows/bandcamp.

I see one for $20 locally, it seems in fine condition but I know I’ll have to probably tune it up. No biggie.

Is normal maintenance doable with these? Are there virtually unrepairable parts to it as a cheaper relatively modern unit? I currently don’t want to get into a more expensive vintage unit with repairs kind of project
