Planning to start CA with ACCA half completed - NEED HELP

Career Advice

Hey guys, I'm midway through ACCA right now (giving my last skill level paper in June 2026). I've got about 8 months of experience as an internal audit assistant and I've been working at my uncle's CA firm for a month now.
Looking at the market lately, it feels like ACCA is losing its spark. The dream of automatically landing a job after qualifying feels like false hope sold by coaching centers. I tried everywhere to get an audit job after my 8-month stint and got nowhere, which is how I ended up at my uncle's firm. Even Big 4s don't seem to be hiring ACCAs for core audit roles like they used to.
I'm thinking of registering for CA through Direct Entry. Since there's a mandatory 8-month wait before I can sit for Inter, I figured I'd clear at least 3 of my ACCA professional papers in the meantime and then aim for the May 2027 CA Inter exams.
My main goal is to build a career in statutory audit, preferably at a Big 4. I'm ready to put in the efforts really but Is it actually worth doing CA at this point?
Does anyone working in audit or big 4 feel like this is the only way to get in and move up now? Would love some honest advice.
