Orientation for SAT - international student
Hey everyone! I'm from Chile (South America) and planning to take the SAT in December 2026 to apply to universities in the US. My English level is advanced and I have around 7 months to prepare with 8+ hours per week to study.
I'm just getting started and ran into my first issue: I opened Bluebook but can't find the full-length practice tests — only the Test Preview shows up. Not sure if it's a regional issue or something with my account setup.
Beyond that, I have a few questions:
-
Any tips specific to international students taking the SAT? (test centers, registration, ID requirements, etc.)
-
Is Khan Academy + Bluebook really enough, or should I get extra materials?
-
What score should I realistically aim for if I want to apply to mid-to-top tier US universities?
-
Any mistakes you wish you'd avoided when starting prep?
Thanks in advance — this community has been super helpful from what I've read!
