Power button randomly stopped putting deck to sleep in game mode

So just yesterday it was working fine, but today I can no longer put my deck to sleep in game mode using the power button. It works fine if i put it to sleep using the option in the menu, but not with the button. In desktop mode however, pressing the button puts it to sleep just fine. I tried fully removing the animation changer plugin and all files related to it since people said that could fix it, but it didn't for me.

Edit: The solution was to delete the .steam/root folder, it had the wrong contents in it for some reason there was only like one thing in it, then when I deleted it and restarted steam it had everything it should have in it, and the problem was solved.
