How helpful is computer science in non-computational linguistic fields?

Academic Advice

This is a general question, but I'm also looking for some advice.

I'm a linguistics major who likes and is good at less computational linguistic fields, such as phonology, phonetics, and morphology, and does not particularly like more computational-related fields, like computational linguistics, syntax, and semantics. I am halfway through a computer science minor and missed the mark I needed for officially receiving the minor, thus I have to retake it. But I'm having a hard time deciding if I should actually continue.

How helpful is coding and computer science-related concepts in fields like phonology, phonetics, and morphology? Those fields are typically not heavy in coding, but I am wondering if knowing coding would help me get a job in linguistics as a whole in the future.

This can also be a discussion in general about computer science in linguistics, since there is not much crossover in my school!
