Immunocompromised - ate bad cheese. What can/should I do?
The cheese was aged English Cheddar from Trader Joe'. Brand new, sealed, far before the seek by date. It didn't look nor smell like anything was wrong. I have consumed this cheese three times now and just realized it's bad.
The first time I ate some, I had a horrible bitter taste in my mouth but I ate it with other things and did know what it was from. The bitterness lasted all night and the following day. I had a bad sore throat for two days following and felt ill. I was not sick from anything else as I have not been around anyone sick (or anyone at all aside from my fiance), tested negative for common viral illness, and I mask when I do go out because I am immunocompromised.
My fiance used some of the cheese in birria tacos last night so it was cooked and I didn't notice the flavor much, maybe a bit more sour than normal but I thought maybe I was still a little sick. I just now ate a piece of it and the aftertaste was/is so overwhelmingly bitter like battery acid. It's a horrible, horrible taste.
I am very worried about getting sick as I do not currently have the best immune system. Is there anything I can do or should be worried about?
Thank you.
