Publicly available technology is purposely restricted to get the most money

Mainly computing. Processors, GPU's , RAM, and phones.

They is the ability to be able to create an AFFORDABLE 20 year lifespan GPU, if not more, same with processors, RAM, and phones that will be able to keep up with the advancement in software and games for the next several decades, but they are purposely released in increments to sell new versions every 1 - 3 years with just enough improvements to last until the next generation where people will want an upgrade to maintain the same quality for newer products and software, while the companies either purposely restrict older versions of the hardware through software or driver updates

2 companies control the market for GPU and CPU so they have incentive to keep it this way, in recent years weve seen a pretty large rise in chinese branded phones that perform better, have more advanced features, better cameras and better hardware than Iphones or Samsungs for often a lot less money.

There is little computing technology left that can be improved and phones are slowly getting to the point where they wont need any more advancements so these companies want to hold onto that for as long as they can.

Keyboards, mice, computer fans, and to an extent, power supplies and monitors have no real room for improvement anymore, they have mostly been perfected and companies wont make much profit off releasing new versions, and newer versions of these mainly cater to people who are either getting them for the first time, or have worn theres down and need replacement. The keyboard and mouse I currently use came out in the early 2010's, and every measurable performance for them still matches newer versions
