I hate Nexplanon

Negative Experience

God getting this birth control was the worst choice ever, I shouldn’t gone with an iud from the start.

I got my implant back in December, and my doctor said “within the next 4 months you’re going to barely be bleeding and feel much better than you did on the pill” okay this is great ?? I’d done some research and it basically lined up with what she said so i believed it.
Month one ? I bleed for 30 days after getting the implant. Month two. I stop bleeding for a week then bled till month three, then I finally got a bit of a break for two weeks, before going right back to bleeding for another twenty days straight. I’ve just finally stopped bleeding again, and it’s just barely been 6 months now. But the bleeding hasn’t changed, it’s just as frequent and just as heavy.

This isn’t the only thing that is making me hate it either, it’s been making me horribly, HORRIBLY depressed. Before I started on this I was fine, I was doing really good actually, in therapy and finally starting to tackle those hardest symptoms that were holding me down. Also two weeks after getting an implant I became so depressed that I quit therapy and basically became a hermit. I only leave my house for the occasional job application (I lost mine a few weeks before getting the implant)

It also has been making me extremely bloated, constant headaches, worse cramping than without it (which caused me to be bedridden without the nexplanon) If I don’t take painkillers for the cramps I genuinely throw up, till they ystop. And there’s so many more things that it’s caused that just make my life worse n worse.

I’m so tired of doctors giving me hormones and being surprised when I react negatively to the same hormone in a different format. Im finally giving up. I’m getting it taken out tomorrow and a hormone free iud in a week.
