Moonveil Katana worth it?

So I’m looking to eventually get into Elden Ring when it comes out on my console. I’m planning a mage build (Astrologer) with a sword as a melee backup. From doing some research I found out about the Moonveil Katana and how it’s a great fit for my intended build. I also found out that it’s received some nerfs and that there’s a lot of discourse surrounding it. While I’m not interested in the drama as it’s my game that I’ll be playing in my own way I have to wonder is Moonveil still worth getting my hands on even with all the nerfs?
