Is it safe to have a large number of orgasms shortly after implantation of an IUD?
I'm scheduled to visit a long-distance partner at the end of this month, and she had an IUD put in a month ago in anticipation of the visit. However, she expelled the IUD a few days ago, and had a followup exam where her doctor checked to see if she had any issues which should make it difficult for her to retain one, and said she should be clear for having a new one put in. Her doctor said it was a bit difficult to get it settled firmly in place, but (possibly unlike the first visit, where she hadn't been numbed prior to implantation,) the IUD seemed to be securely positioned.
Her doctor has remained accessible for further followups, but after losing the IUD the first time, my partner is still a bit nervous, and in particular, is worried that having a large number of orgasms in a short time frame might increase her risk of expelling the IUD again. I specifically want to make my visit an indulgent experience for her, and I'd rather she be able to enjoy herself as much as possible, but it's hard for her to get that worry out of her head. But, she's also too shy to ask her own ObGyn about this directly. Is this a genuine risk she should be concerned about? The IUD would have been in for about four weeks by that point.
