Hey, I've been having a very common issue with my daily running shoes that I'd like to have resolved before I buy my next pair.

The pictures shown are my trainers that I've been using over the past year and a half.

• Nike Zoom Pegasus 41 - Size 10.5: over 400 miles, mostly on sidewalks and treadmill

• Hoka Mach 6 - Size 10.5: around 260 miles, on a mix of paved roads and treadmill

• Asics Novablast 5 (Tokyo) - Size 10.5: around 300-315 miles, over 70% on treadmill

• Asics Novablast 5 (Black) - Size 10.5: around 270 miles, around 60% outside on the road with the rest on treadmill.

A common trend you'll notice with these shoes is that the right side of the mid/toe area tears apart fairly quickly. I notice this to happen around 230-260 miles in (happened a lot quicker with the Hokas). However, this doesn't happen with my left shoe. Can someone explain what's happening here.

Also, for a bit of background, I used to run size 11 shoes with these models. I noticed a tad bit more room in the front of the shoe and preferred tying them very tightly, however, was able to get more use out of these. This was also when I competed in XC (race spikes (Nikes)) were also 11's)

• Nike Zoom Pegasus 37-38

• Saucony Freedom ISO

• Saucony Freedom 5 (all time favorite shoe! Had 2 pairs and loved racing in them)

• Brooks Hyperion Tempo

• Brooks Ghost 16

Alongside that, I'm currently using the Saucony Kinvara 16 (size 11)as my tempo/speed shoe of choice. So far have had no issues, but still prefer the extra "bounce" the Novablasts give me.

Here's my top 5 overall favorite shoes:

1. Saucony Freedom 5 (Size 11)

2. Asics Novablast 5 (Size 10.5)

3. Saucony Freedom ISO (Size 11)

4. Nike Zoom Pegasus 40/41 (Size 10.5)

5. Saucony Kinvara 16 (Size 11)

Here are the options I'm struggling to decide:

• Get another pair of Novablast 5's, but as a 10.5 Wide (never tried wide sizes before, not sure what I need)

• Try Saucony Endorphin Speed 5, Size 11

• Try the Altra Experience Flow 2, Size 10.5

• Try the New Balance FuelCell Rebel v5, Size 10.5

• Get another pair of Pegasus (Pegases?), Size 10.5

• Try a shoe suggested from here, if the user shares a similar shoe history with me.

My goal is to get another neutral shoe that both feels light and is durable enough to last through the summer.

What do you all think?
