Description:

Yaldabaoth is classically depicted as leonine or leontocephalic, a figure with the head of a lion and the body of a serpent, symbolizing a dual nature: raw coercive power and deceptive creeping intelligence. He is the force that believes itself to be the only God, while remaining blind to what lies above him.

The Central Spark
This is the theological core of the piece.
In Gnosticism, humanity contains a divine spark known as pneuma, a fragment of the true divine realm called the Pleroma, trapped inside material existence. Yaldabaoth is unaware that this spark exists within his own creation.
The radiant light emerging from the center of the sigil represents exactly this: the imprisoned yet unextinguished divine essence, shining within the architecture of matter itself.

Moon and Star
These represent the Archons, the cosmic rulers who govern the layers of the material cosmos under Yaldabaoth’s authority.
Moon represents illusion, cycles, sublunary deception, and the repetitive nature of material existence.
Star represents structured cosmic order, but still bound within the material hierarchy rather than the true divine realm.
They are thresholds the soul must pass through on its ascent beyond the fabricated cosmos.

Inscriptions

Logion 81, Top Inscription
“Let the one who has become rich reign”, from the Gospel of Thomas, Logion 81.
In its Gnostic reading, this is not about material wealth. It refers to inner richness, the accumulation of gnosis, which is direct experiential knowledge of the divine.
To become rich is to awaken the inner spark, to no longer be spiritually poor or asleep within the illusion of the material world. To reign is to gain sovereignty over perception itself, to no longer be ruled by the Demiurge and the Archonic structure.
So the phrase becomes almost paradoxical. Only those who are inwardly filled with divine knowledge are fit to rule, meaning ultimately to transcend rule entirely.

“Blessed is the lion that the human will eat”, Logion 7 from the Gospel of Thomas
A cryptic and powerful image. The lion represents instinct, raw power, and the demiurgic force itself.
To eat the lion is to internalize and transform it, to metabolize the lower nature rather than be ruled by it. In this sense, Yaldabaoth is not simply rejected but symbolically consumed and transmuted into spiritual nourishment.
It is the integration of the bestial into consciousness, turning control into understanding and domination into transcendence.
