Engine issues after Recall Longblock replacement
Has anyone else had repeated failures after the Acura MDX engine recall repair?
My 2019 MDX had the rod bearing recall issue and needed a long block replacement. Since then, it has broken down THREE more times with the same pattern:
Emissions System Problem
SH-AWD/brake/traction warnings
strong gasoline smell
First time was the day after getting it back. Second time was after a medium long trip. Third time was tonight after only normal commuting for less than a week.
To be fair, the dealer has given me loaners and hasn’t charged me, so they clearly know this is tied to the original repair. But I drive my kids in this car and I’m losing confidence in it. They fix the fuel leak every-time for it just to fail again.
For anyone who’s dealt with this:
What was the actual fix?
Fuel system? Sensors? Wiring?
Did Acura corporate get involved?
At what point did you escalate it?
This feels like a pretty big safety issue!
I'm frustrated and the dealer nice, but this is crazy!
