I can't listen to one of the Fate of the Pheonix Soundtracks

Discussion

As an Eastern Orthodox Christian, I really appreciate the care and effort the development team put into this new DLC, especially in its representation of Orthodox Christianity. One of the songs included, Agni Parthene (“O Virgin Pure”), is an especially emotional and meaningful hymn for many Orthodox Christians, myself included.

I love immersive music in games, but this is honestly the first time I’ve ever felt too immersed in a Paradox game. Hearing that hymn while playing genuinely caught me off guard emotionally to the point that it almost took me out of the game, it immidately pulls me into the reality of the history I am mimicing and playing out in this game almost 7 centuries later.

This is a completely pointless post with no real purpose other than me wanting to mention how unusual that feeling was. I’ve never experienced something like that from a Paradox game before. I know this is just a stylistic choice to many people, most likely the developers too, maybe some of you guys even find it a cool sounding hymn. I was wondering if anyone who might be plaiyng EU5 and is an Orthodox Christian has felt similarly with the new dlc?

Thank you for listening to my rant.
