Why not join the scalpers maliciously?

I'm not in the hobby and my cards seem pretty unaffected (Gundam and Digimon) at least in my area. But I have a coworker who buys as much as he can to sit on scalp later, and will ask others to camp out and help him get more. And it kinda put the thought into my head of what if a bunch of the not shitty people in the community started going to the restocks buying the limit (apparently it's two per item) and selling the excess at whatever you paid or a little less, would that not lower the value and screw the scalpers if enough of you did that? I know it would take a lot of you, but I feel like spite is a pretty good motivator for a lot of people. Might be a dumb question, but it's been sitting in my head for a bit.
