Which Mac is best for me?

I'm looking to get a Mac someday, but I can't decide between the iMac or the MacBook Pro. I plan to use it for moderate gaming, web browsing, and media consumption. The portability of a MacBook seems useful to me, but it is not a necessity as I also don't mind having a desktop. Which should I look into?
