If you thought Star Fox was dead, Nintendo just killed it for good
I'm at a loss for words.
After the failure that was Zero, the beloved Star Fox franchise went dormant for an entire generation.
But then we were given a glimmer of light.
Fox McCloud in the Galaxy movie. A great depiction of the character, both in terms of design and the casting of Glen Powell.
With this, Nintendo had an easy lay up here to reboot the franchise. Interest in Fox is at an all time high.
And instead we get this...
This is the ugliest looking video game Nintendo has ever made. It looks like Unreal Engine slop. There was no effort at all to craft a nice art style.
And yet another remake? How did they not learn this lesson from Zero? This shit is beyond tired. Franchise has been dead for a decade. You've had 10 years to reinvent it and come up with something and it's yet another fucking remake of 64, which was already a remake of SNES.
I'm tired.
They also could have easily cast Glen Powell in the game and given the game a Hollywood voice cast for extra cachet. A move that would have been unusual for Nintendo, but would have done a lot for boosting the marketability of the franchise.
Nintendo flopped on every front when everything was lined up for a massive win.
Star Fox is dead.
