What would you do?!
I previously worked for a major airline for about two years before my employment was terminated following a complaint from a coworker. The allegations involved claims that I had misgendered them and behaved inappropriately by sitting on their lap. I strongly disputed those claims and requested that the company review or provide camera footage that I believed would help clarify the situation. However, I was told that the investigation had already been closed and would not be reopened.
Since then, I’ve submitted more than 150 applications across the aviation industry but have struggled to secure another opportunity in the field. At first, I worried that I may have been blacklisted, but after being hired elsewhere and successfully passing a background check, I realized there was nothing negative showing up in my records.
I’m trying to understand whether a company can unofficially impact future employment opportunities in aviation after a termination like this, and what steps I should realistically take moving forward to rebuild my career in the industry.
