How to reach out to my HS hallway crush?

I (18M) had a bit of a hallway crush on someone in high school but we never really talked. Ive been seeing her on Hinge recently and i know well both be home from college for the summer. shes a little over a year older than me and at a college a couple hours away from me, but i think its possible?

I was hoping to send a rose and say smth like “hey [name]! idk if you remember, but we went to [highschool] together and im wondering how its going at [college]?”

I also thought about just reaching out over Instagram since we both follow each other, but figured Hinge would make it more obvious I’m looking to date, and i dont know if thats necessarily a good thing. like i dont want to put her off you know?
