Questions About Rotating Shoes

Discussion

I’ve been going down the basketball shoe rabbit hole lately trying to find a new pair after wearing my old ones into the ground, and I keep seeing people talk about their “shoe rotation.”

I’ve honestly never really thought about it before. I usually just buy one pair and wear them until they’re cooked. But now I’m curious what the benefits are to rotating between multiple shoes, especially as I’m getting older and starting to notice my feet/ankles a bit more after runs.

For those of you that rotate:
- what’s the biggest benefit?
- does it actually help with comfort/recovery/longevity?
- do you rotate different styles of shoes for different types of runs/workouts?
- or is it more just preference and enjoying different pairs?

I hoop maybe 2-4 times a week (pickup + shooting workouts), so I definitely don’t need a huge collection, but I’d love to hear how people approach it because it’s something I’ve never really paid attention to before.
