I plan a trip to a watch manufacturer near to me. What kind of watch should i buy?

Discussion

I am by no means a watch collector or have a very good understanding of how watches work. I have a Seiko inherited from my grandpa and a Casio F91W. For finally graduating Uni i wanted to treat myself for a watch and lurking here i have seen many watches that i liked the design of.

But then i also thought it would be nice to get a watch from a manufacturer near to me and i found one 80km's away, they even have a watch museum. From their website i have chosen 2 watches that i really like.

One of them is a quartz watch and the other one is a automatic watch. From what i understand an automatic watch is more expensive, since the mechanic parts are more intricate or complicated? Does an automatic watch need some kind of special care? The manufacturer is UMR-Ruhla. I guess i am just a bit worried, if i go for the automatic one, that i will buy an expensive watch and it will be wasted on me.
