Pet Peeve: The Pacing with the Seasons and Book Ones First Warehouse Scene

Discussion

Just something I've noticed is that the timing doesn't really make sense. In book one it is noted to mostly be winter but almost spring, so I always considered that to be February esque. It is noted that the Murphy case takes about a month tops from beginning to end so I always though it ended either at the end of February or the very beginning of March.

Then it is noted that there are two months between then and Book Two, which would make it the beginning of May at the earliest. Which would make it near the end of Spring and yet near the end of the book there is this quote

"Spring is eventually finding its stride through the final clutches of winter."

Which would indicate that its a few weeks past the beginning of spring, which puts this in late March? But that would mean Book One took place in January which is dead winter, no hint of spring anywhere.

Second pet peeve - who did the Detective run into when she scoped out the warehouse after investigating photos found on Jennifer Greenland's phone? Because if it was Murphy then he would have smelled her and knew immediately what she was and that he'd found his next victim. He didn't know the detective was that last person with the blood mutation until the lab scene.

It couldn't have been a thrall either, the sillhouette was noted to be gangly and all thralls are noted to be bloated, slow and to smell. The Detective would've smelled the thrall and thought it was an ill person or something.

So who were Unit Bravo fighting? It couldn't have been a previous assignment, they would have noted being in Wayhaven already for something else, they were already tracking Murphy when they came into town (as noted by F they tracked him through Alaska for at least some time).

This one is not so much as a pet peeve because there is always the chance it is a plot twist that will be revealed, like it ends up being the ex team member or ex handler.
