You've been selected...

After a long normal day, you fall into a deep sleep in your bed. When you awake, you are confused to see that you are in a totally white, well lit room amongst 9 other people. All of you are confused as to what is going on and where you are.

A brief moment later, a group of scientists walk in the room with a group of what appears to be well groomed, highly fit, black-suited armed guards.

The scientists inform you that they are part of a well funded, black ops government group that is unnamed and highly secret - even the President (Or whatever you call the leader in your country) knows of it.

You, and the other 9 people, have been selected for time travel; specifically 20 years into the past. Your group is informed that you have been chosen based on the extremely limited factor that anything you can do in the past will affect the present or future on the geopolitical scale. You do not have a choice in participating.

Your current consciousness, knowledge, memories, and all other present faculties will be transferred into your past self 20 years back.

You are given 2 weeks to study any information available via the Internet and an on-site library that contains all known non-fiction books. The version of Internet you are given has access to ALL information, including the dark web. However, you have absolutely no capability to interact with others or leave any type of written or other information on any site. There is no loophole to this, you are completely quarantined from outside interactions.

You are warned that you will be under secret surveillance for study, though you will never know who, what, when, where, or how. You are free to interact with the world as you see fit, keeping in mind that any actions you take will not have any meaningful impact on the current or future affairs of the world. However, you can change your own life or the life of others on a smaller scale.

At the end of the 2 weeks, you wake up 20 years back from the date, exactly as you were informed.
