Is it me or is finding old files in external USB3 2.5" HDD's encrypted APFS TM slow?

I was trying to find a specific decade old file in the old back up since 2025! It was connected to an 13" Intel MBP with its macOS Sequoia v15.7.5. Searching was SO slow in a 5 TB HDD with almost 100 GB free. :(
