A newbie question about saves when playing Convergence. Can't figure out the proper way to proceed from the Discord FAQ.
I've never modded the game, nor any FS game to be honest. So I'm not familiar with the save system.
So, I've installed the game through the launcher. I launched it, Convergence opens. I see "Continue/Load Game/New Game." I had expected just "New Game". When I click on Load Game, I see my vanilla characters. I didn't go past this point to not mess up my save file.
I backed up ER0000.sl2, the vanilla save, into a different folder. I also see a ER0000.cnv file in there which I guess is the Convergence save.
The FAQ doesn't specify whether I should remove my vanilla save file from the folder altogether, then create a character, or if it's fine to leave it in the folder? Similarly, when I want to go back to vanilla, same question about what to do with the .cnv file?
Basically, just want to know if it's fine to leave both save files in the same folder as long as I back up and don't use the characters from one while playing the other, or if there should only be the relevant save file in the folder each time I play either.
Thanks!
