Sold my car today but its kind of weird what is going on

So i sold my car. We went to the bank, made sure the money was real, gave him the title so he has the title but they didnt move it that far. Its still and my street and they told me they had to run errands? Does anyone know anything about this? Possible scam? I brought the money to the bank. They would've known right away if it was fake vs real, right?
