Your job searching in your 20s is going to look nothing like job searching in your 30s. Here's what changed for me.

In my 20s: applied everywhere, heard back fast, interviewed at 3 places, picked one. In my 30s: more selective, take longer to apply, hear back slower, interview processes are 4-5 rounds, offers take weeks.

The market is different, my expectations are different, my finances have more riding on it. But the biggest shift is that I actually know what I want now and that makes the misses hurt more because I'm not just chasing anything, I'm chasing something specific.

Anyone else find that clarity about what you want somehow makes the search harder, not easier.
