Recs for spine surgeons - cervical spinal stenosis experience

I have cervical spinal stenosis causing a pinched nerve at my c6-c7. I’ve been told I will now need surgery. I am of course worried about spinal surgery at a relatively young age plus downtime etc. Does anyone have any recs for spine surgeons in NYC? Or any experience dealing with cervical stenosis? I’ve tried an epidural which did not work, but would love to hear people’s feedback/experience whether you had surgery or not.
