Staring to have some worries about an age gap relationship
Just looking for some advice. I (32m) have ended up in a relationship with this guy (23m). He’s incredibly sweet, we get on really well. It doesn’t in any way feel like a weird power related thing. He’s very emotionally aware and mature really. But I immediately get that just saying that sounds like I’m trying to justify it because it’s inherently weird or something. I don’t know.
First few months I haven’t really thought about it because it’s just been this lovely little bubble. But I guess I’m starting to feel a bit of pressure around the social expectations to do with it. I’ve told one or two friends who have been fine (I think) - but I’m conscious about what might be being said when I’m not there and very very unsure about how to break it to others. We talked about it the other day and he pretty much said the same thing. He was reassuring and said it wasn’t anything to worry about as we both feel assured that we really like each other.
I guess I’m just having some doubts about where to go next with it as it can’t be in a bubble forever. And I’m a very self conscious and anxious person anyway. I’d hate for external stuff to spoil something that’s been so nice.
Full realise there’s not a question here but guess I’m just looking for some helpful advice about how to approach the situation.
TL;DR - really happy in age gap relationship but a little worried about perception of others
