[KCD2] Question

So I’m trying to level up my speech in the game. Reading around I saw that I can do this by talking to the NPCs and haggling with traders. I’ve been doing the haggling but my speech doesn’t seem to have risen at all. Is haggling still a good way to farm XP or was that patched?
